If securing an assessment role is proving challenging, our program is specifically designed to help you meet the practical requirements for assessor qualifications, including the Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, and Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement. Through virtual placements, you’ll assess real learners from our centre, giving you a comprehensive and practical learning experience. This ensures you can confidently apply your assessing skills in a realistic context.
Each trainee assessor is paired with an experienced mentor who will guide you throughout the virtual assessment process. Receive constructive feedback, practical insights, and professional support to enhance your assessing abilities and build confidence.
Start by completing a quick and straightforward application on the Excelon Learning website. You’ll be asked to share information about your academic background, career objectives, and any preferences for your virtual assessment placement. This information will then be used to match you to learners.
Upon starting the program and completing the theoretical part of the course, you’ll be paired with real students from our centre. This arrangement lets you familiarise yourself with the course basics and engage in interactive, virtual assessment sessions, creating a dynamic learning environment. This will then allow you tou plan and move to the next step.
Prior to starting your virtual placement, Excelon Learning provides a detailed orientation to virtual assessment practices. You will learn how to use online assessment tools, develop effective communication strategies, and create a productive and engaging virtual assessment environment.
As part of the Trainee Practitioner Placement Program, you will develop detailed assessment plans, conduct learner assessments, and provide constructive feedback to the students assigned to you. The conduction of assessment will be mutually agreed with the learner that the centre matches for you.
Throughout your assessment placement, you will reflect on your experiences, achievements, and areas for improvement. This reflective practice supports the development of your assessing skills and enhances your understanding of professional assessment methods. Reflection on your application of assessment methods will help you support your coursework.
Throughout the process, experienced mentors will review your assessment planning, delivery, and decision-making, providing valuable feedback to help you refine your skills and grow as a professional assessor. This will be assessed through submission of your assessment evidences procured from your learners. Feedback will be provided to you throughout the positioning.
