Begin by completing a simple and straightforward application through the Excelon Learning website. After starting the programme and completing at least 15% of the theoretical course, you will be introduced to real learners from our centre. This stage helps you apply your knowledge while developing confidence through engaging and interactive virtual teaching sessions.
Before starting your virtual placement, you must complete a comprehensive orientation to online teaching. This includes learning how to use virtual classroom tools, applying effective communication techniques, and creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive online learning environment for all learners.
You will take responsibility for planning and delivering structured virtual teaching sessions to your assigned learners. Using appropriate digital tools and resources, you will create interactive lessons that promote engagement, support learning outcomes, and enhance the overall educational experience.
As part of the Trainee Practitioner Positioning programme, you will maintain a detailed teaching log and be observed by a member of the academic team. You will receive constructive feedback to help you improve your practice and meet expected professional and industry standards.
Throughout your virtual placement, you will engage in reflective practice by documenting your experiences, progress, and areas for development. This process supports continuous improvement, strengthens your teaching abilities, and deepens your understanding of effective virtual education practices.
